4K102 4K Ultra HD Digital Microscope
When it comes to digital microscopes, nothing compares to the clarity of YSC’s 4K102 model. But first: what IS 4K Ultra HD? How does it compare with the more common HD 1080p monitor?
4K Ultra HD, also known as 4K or Ultra High Definition (UHD), is 3830 x 2160 pixels in resolution. This is a significantly higher resolution than that of its counterpart, 1080p (also known as High Definition or HD), which has 1920 x 1080 pixels. This put 4K UHD at nearly four times the amount of pixels than the 1080p with more than 8 million pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio, while 1080p only has a 3:2 aspect ratio with about 2 million pixels.
What does this mean for the viewer? The 4K is able to reproduce intricate details clearly, whereas 1080p or lower resolution monitors may only be able to reproduce the image with a moire or blur at best. Furthermore, 4K allows you to be positioned or seated twice as close to the monitor than 1080p without seeing any pixelations. In fact, it is recommended you sit closer when working with a 4K monitor to fully experience the details it is able to produce. Larger viewing distance will only cancel out the benefits of having 4K because it would have the same results as viewing with a lower resolution screen.
Of course, when you’re working with a microscope, you’re not viewing your inspections from across the room. You’re most likely sitting no more than two feet away from your screen and that is the ideal viewing distance for working with the 24” or 28” UHD monitor recommended for 4K102 (see above chart for more details).
